Nam San RoseScarf

Nam San Scarf
Ribbons of pearl grey coursing back and forth across a lightweight scarf. This scarf was named by the weaver after the river near her house. It reminded her of the many zigzags of the river. The ikat pattern is dyed into the thread before it is woven. The dark grey color is made from mud near the village. Great skill is needed in the dyeing and weaving processes to keep the pattern consistent. The rose color is made from mulberry fruit.
